You always show up. And everyone likes that- you get the job done and no one ever has to doubt. But inside, you crumble a little bit. So stuck on a hamster wheel- every day you give and inside you feel like it just wasn’t enough.
that work out. You did it. You burned those calories. You went the distance. Couldn’t have you done better?
your eating habits are on par. You eat balanced. You make sure you don’t eat too much. Your figure looks good. From the outside you did well. And that cookie you ate? All your progress and success for the day lost.
every morning you start with a quiet time. You are a good Christian girl. When you say you’ll pray for someone, you do. You don’t ever skip church because... well you are too disciplined. And that thought you had, or that comment said, or that passage unread, well you aren’t enough for God.
at work you alway say yes. You’re helpful and all your coworkers like you. You always step in. If someone has to sacrifice, it better be you. And yet, taking that lunch break, you can feel the scorn of those around you.
Hey friend- you don’t have to be perfect. Did you know you’re good enough?
✨if you don’t have the perfect workout, you still showed up. If you missed a workout, you missed just that, a workout. Nothing that will kill your figure or ruin your life.
✨if you ate that cookie, it’s just a cookie. We are not defined by what we eat. Sure, it’s a less healthy food. But which is more unhealthy- having a cookie or creating negative brain pathways by destroying yourself for eating “badly.”
✨you can miss that quiet time. You can not open your Bible for a whole year. You will be okay. Jesus will still love you- He doesn’t need anything from you.
✨at work, you can make mistakes. You can learn to say no. Your mental and physical health is so important. You can’t be everything to everyone. So take that lunch break and don’t beat yourself up if you missed being perfect.
Friend- you are enough. And it’s okay to not be perfectly disciplined. So just rest- take a day off. God created a day of rest - and if the Creator of the universe thought rest was important, than I think it’s okay. It’s okay to rest.
