This may not seem like a biz post, but this is my WHY. And not because I love my dog.
For me, becoming boss meant I had to get really honest with myself about my priorities, my goals and how I spend my time.
I spent most of the last 20 years putting out fires, constantly shifting my attention from one person’s agenda to another. But when I reached middle age, something shifted. I didn’t feel like my time reflected what I valued.
Thanks to a community of inspiring women ahead of me, I could see a path forward.
Once I was in charge of my time, I started setting goals and learned new skills for productivity and time management. (Thank you @amber_delagarza )
Without those skills and that clarity, I would never have been able to complete this certification, which involved numerous steps over many months.
Leo and I are a now therapy dog team. That certification will grant us entry back into the classroom -- one of my favorite places!
Therapy dogs are paired with struggling readers to listen and not judge.
So excited to begin this next chapter!
