Beautiful Bhutan. On my way back from a trek to the Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Choeten, Punakha. This was memorable for two reasons, 1) for the trek through the rice fields and 2) the view from the top. It was built by the Queen mother for the well being of the country and was completed in 1999. The trek began crossing the bridge lined with prayer flags fluttering in the wind and Mo Chhu river flowing merrily to meet Po Chhu river. The walk is relaxing in its initial stages through paddy fields, gushing streams until the climb begins. A prayer wheel greeted me half way through the trek and the view took away all the tiredness of the journey. As I climbed further and finally reached the Chorten, the exquisite architecture and the art depicted on the walls and doorways were so beautiful, I forgot the arduous journey to the top. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ #bhutan #bhutantravel #travel #explore #bbctravel #lonelyplanet #guardiantravelsnaps #condenast #adventure #naturephotography #natgeotravel #culture #bridge #wild

Not really sure the significance of the 4th street promenade except that it was lit by classic neon lights. Walked a bunch during these few days in Edmonton & I think I got the jest of what’s it all about.

〰️🇺🇸〰️ If you go to #Venice... My biggest recommendation is that you get rid of the map 🗺 and just get lost in the maze of its canals 🙌🏻 Venice is one of those cities where it’s best to let yourself be surprised by the beauty of every corner and the city itself 💕 〰️ Have you ever wandered around a city without a map? #TaniaEnItalia

What is art? (...) Like a declaration of love: the consciousness of our dependence on each other. A confession. An unconscious act that none the less reflects the true meaning of life—love and sacrifice. Andrei Tarkovsky

Well by now, we should all know that Greenland isn’t for sale... and if you want to know anything else about Greenland, the Danish Arctic Institute, founded in 1954 has focused on Danish-Greenlandic relations. The main purpose for the Institute was to collect diaries, photos and other registrations from the Danish-Greenlandic expeditions as well as other relevant materials that could throw light on the Danish-Greenlandic history. The institute preserves valuable materials from the Danish Arctic expeditions and Arctic relations. @arktiskebilleder . . . #greenland #exploredenmark #govisitdenmark #copenhagen #visitcopenhagen #explorer #traveldeeper #culturetrip #searchwandercollect #stayadventurous #exploretocreate #stayandwander #mydomainetravels #iamatraveler #travelwithaninsider #livelittlethings #archi_ologie #architecture #guardiantravelsnaps #passionpassport #bestcitytrips #neverstopexploring #mytinyatlas #theprettydistrict #facadelovers #photooniphone #travelersnotebook #guardiantravelsnaps #bitsofbuildings #livebetterhere

One thing I’ve taken from studying the greats is that they all took their time. They were never in a rush with the work. Years and sometimes even decades could pass by before they presented it. The dedication and sacrifice that comes with that type of commitment is partly why it’s so special. Through trial and error I’ve learned that the work will let you know when it’s done with you and when it’s ready to be shown to the world. Anything other than that is a disservice. 48 Hours in Havana soon come.

The first of my Faroe photo spam and my last night on the islands. It's been incredible, but there's one thing I wont miss- The hire car seemed to have this issue where the windscreen wiper would stick to the drivers door above certain speeds. This sounds quite funny right? At first I laughed, but then realised the only way to counter this (and have visibility) was by holding my hand out the window, which meant my knuckles were blasted with hail and intermittently slapped with the windscreen wiper 😂 . . . . . . #faroeislands #visitfaroeislands #roamtheplanet #stayandwander #beautifuldestinations #passionpassport #denmark #europe_vacations #pictureoftheday #agameoftones #exploretocreate #mytinyatlas #ourplanetdaily #moodygrams #artofvisuals #stayandwander #thegreatoutdoors #eclectic_shotz #forceofnature #natureaddict #earthpix #adventurethatislife #guardiantravelsnaps #dscvr_earth #earthofficial #folkscenery #speechlessplaces #roamtheplanet #folkcreative

The Ruins of St. Paul as seen from Fortaleza do Monte. The stone carved facade is the only structure remaining from this 17th century Jesuit church. It sits perched on a hill & was, at one time the largest church in Asia, thus called the Vatican of the Far East. You can walk through the underground crypt to observe some of the artifacts found during excavations in the 1990s.
