The formation. All who have been to Plaza Blanca or the “White Place” know it well. A testament to a millennia of sedimental layers gathered and then eroded by wind, water, and time incomprehensible. From a stormy spring day a bit ago.

When I travel, there’s always a moment of realization. Stepping into a new world, a new experience .. but the only thing I can be certain of...is the moment I entered this place, I knew I would not be the same once I left. Grateful for another sunset.

#tbt to my first time camping ⛺️ alone in the middle of the Superstition Wilderness... but this spot is currently on the edge of the fire and we’ll see if it gets spared as the fire continues to spread 😐

We may or may not have hiked past the cave & went further on the Long Canyon trail and then climbed our way back to the cave - but - we finally found it & the Birthing Cave in Sedona was prettyyyy dope.

That time @natebachmann & I went on a "real" vacation for the first time in 3 years. . Driving countless miles through desert and vast ancient rock formations in Utah & Nevada; making us feel like teeny pioneering astronauts. Hiking/walking/sweating over 50 miles in Zion, Bryce Canyon, Grand Escalante, Capitol Reef, Mexican Hat, Monument Valley, Flagstaff, Grand Canyon, Sedona & Las Vegas. Claiming the earth with our toes and braving cliffs to see vistas from above. Smiling at every plant that demanded to be part of this world, despite the harsh conditions. Camping as the moon and stars glowed like diamonds; searching for UFO's (but didn't find any ☹️); diving in cool watering holes off the beaten path; discovering our cooler had been attacked by ravens (go figure, Bmore!), destroying our dinner. Learning about the Spooky 2 and it's frequency powers 👻 . Cry-laughing as we watched best friends @mblum86 & @cjcapizzi renew their wedding vows in front of fake Elvis in a bedazzled white jumpsuit. . Thank you @natebachmann for opening my eyes to a part of this country I shamefully didn't have any interest in. I had no idea the southwest could be so hauntingly gorgeous or that I would inevitably fall in love with it. And thank you to our friends and/or friends of friends who wrote to us, even though some of us have never met, to give us your tips and tricks. You guys rock as deep as the damn Grand Canyon :) . To see more pics & details of our hikes, check out @natebachmann 's 'Southwest Highlights' in his profile - he did an awesome job documenting everything! (Unlike me lol)

Southwest road trips in the summer consist of lots of water, possible flat tires(p.s where is the Venmo for my jack you stole @zachtesta ), hundreds of miles through Indian reservations without service, the feeling of wanting to be naked the entire time and a shit load of sunscreen. Brace yourself for a wild ride, it will be worth it! 🔥🤙🏻

🌲 A fun collection of photos showcasing the moments before, during, and after landing my drone in a tree. I love my crocs, but they really tried my patience as I tumbled down the cliff side in search of my drone.

This horse and I had a real moment here. What a privilege it is to stand next to such a beautiful and gentle creature! Did you know horses produce 10 gallons of saliva in a day, and that their eyes are the largest of any land mammal? Share it at your next party! _________________________________ Photo: @kaminskiphotography

I'm oddly extra exhausted after the last couple days of hiking at Theodore Roosevelt National Park, but it's been a beautiful adventure and we're in love with the park. I have tons of photos, this isn't one. 😂 They and countless others await editing. In the meantime, here's Ty on a hike up a mountain in Joshua Tree National Park in California. . . . . . #adventuretogether #modernoutdoors #roamtheplanet #wildernessculture #ourplanetdaily #travelawesome #tlpicks #wildernessportrait #backpackabroad #WestbySouthwest #igSouthwest #dirtybootstravel #girlgetoutside #wildernessnation #trailtowild #keepnaturewild #takemoreadventures #alpinebabes #girlswhowander #wildernesslifestyle #mountainstories #neverstopexploring #womenwhoexplore #lifewellcaptured #mtnchicks #sheexplores #nationalparkgeek #joshuatreenationalpark

When I was 15 years old I was lucky enough to have a photography class offered in high school. Of course back then it was all BW film and darkroom processing. And I remember one my favorite photographers was Ansel Adams. The way he was able to capture light in his landscapes is still to this day unmatched in my opinion. But anyways he was a major influence in my life in terms of my passion for nature photography. Though my photography tends to be much more vivid in color, it is nice to go back to my roots! Cheers to monochrome :)

A lone figure ascends the ridgeline of a dune in the fierce wind, at the Mesquite Flats of Death Valley, just before the sun starts going down. Though I don't usually include people in my photos, I make exceptions when they enhance the photo by showing a sense of scale, which is exactly what's happening here. And the beautiful light hitting the dunes helped too 😍 . . . #photooftheday #igsouthwest #puresouthwest #eclectic_shotz #jaw_dropping_shots #divine_deserts #igworld_global #agameoftones #depthsofearth #artofvisuals #deathvalley #deathvalleynps #earthexlusive #bvssquad #discoverearth #globeshotz #placestotravel_s #nationalparks #national_park_photography #visitcalifornia #nationalparkgeek #sanddunes #westbysouthwest #nikonphotography #natgeoyourshot #ig_california

Ambient lighting. Seems like this would be a very peaceful place, but there are so many people that visit every year that you're never alone. Our guides did a great job of helping to get shots without the hordes of people that are in the canyon!

"The most beautiful and most profound experience is the sensation of the mystical. It is the sower of all true science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead. To know that what is impenetrable to us really exists, manifesting itself as the highest wisdom and the most radiant beauty which our dull faculties can comprehend only in their primitive forms – this knowledge, this feeling is at the center of true religiousness.”- Albert Einstein

🐿 "Round-tailed ground squirrels are well-adapted to desert life. They can stay active even on the hottest of days, although they do tend to limit their activity during the heat of the afternoon sun. They live underground in the winter, typically from late August or September until January or February. The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire⁣ The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire⁣ The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire⁣ We don't need no water... ⁣ ⁣ Fun little Anasazi ruin that lights up when the sun hits the other side of the canyon. I was early enough to see the roof burn bright, though it was short lived. Hiking back down the canyon I saw a handful of folks heading out on the hike, though they were going to miss the exquisite colors of mid-morning. June 2019.

I need to be more social when I am out exploring. I tend to just want to let people enjoy the moments they are in because I think I would be bothering them by chatting. . Case in point: I got to this location and didn't have a remote. Didn't even think about it until another photographer asked if I was going to timer it. Because I didn't want to risk my life trying to run around the hole in 10 seconds or less, I thought I was out of luck. "Use your phone," came the idea. Duh, I should have thought of that. . Thanks @duanecummings for chatting with me! . . . . . #visitarizona #instagramaz #arizonacollective #arizonahiking #igsouthwest #explorearizona #sedonaescape #landscapelovers #earthfocus #discoverglobe #theoutbound #southwestisbest #igsouthwest #lifewelltraveled #travelholic #travelphotography #skymileslife #worldtraveler #stayandwander #roamtheplanet #neverstopexploring #lifeofadventure #exploretocreate #welivetoexplore #awakethesoul #wildernessculture #liveauthentic #wondermore #exploreeverywhere #skymileslife

For most of my life I’ve always looked to the west or south for a furthering of my explorative endeavors, but not now. Now my eyes peer to the north. Into the greener waterfall spectacles I’ve yet to see. To a future unknown, but an idea that a fire may burn once again. (Getting moody today, hope everyone’s had an awesome week so far. It’s my Friday, and I’m cheery as hell to escape. Stay safe out there, Cheers.)

Old Bahia Honda Bridge. The Bahia Honda railroad bridge was originally built by Henry Flagler as part of the FEC's Overseas Railroad. Opened in 1912, Flagler funded the railway construction between Miami and Key West using his own personal funds. The Labor Day Hurricane of 1935 destroyed much of the line, and FEC sought abandonment.🦎 . #escalante #grandstaircaseescalante #southernutah #utahunique #exploreutah #yesvisitutah #wowutah #westbysouthwest #igsouthwest #mountainstones #mthrworld #the_folknature #outdoortones #wildernessnation #folkmoody #folkcreative #dscvr_mood #allaboutadventures #voyaged #wildvisuals #wildernesstones #roam247 #adventurenthusiasts #earth_shotz #eclectic_shotz #moodnation #alltrails #roamnation #earthoutdoors
