This was the day before yesterdays photo. Can you even believe that? Snow, or sunshine and blue sky, Lake Louise will always make your heart fly
This was what I meant yesterday when I said the lovely Lake Louise can reflect the sky above like a ripplied mirror. This photo is edited (probably badly, but i am still learning!) a little, but generally it is just to help with making things a little more true to life. Lake Louise, and Canada in general, does not need help to look better. It naturally looks absolutely gorgeous!
Up to this point, I had stuck to the paths. Walked past the lake and away from the people, and up into the mountains a little way. Maybe a mile or more. Realising further up the trail why people use horses to trek up here. Horses make going uphill much easier, and bears and other carnivorous creatures in the area will probably go for the lonely wanderer. Aka me. I eventually saw a couple and their dog walking back to the lake, and I asked them how long it'd take to get up to teahouse further up. Their reply made me think i'd be heading back in the dark. Definitely not a place for me. So i let them get a little ahead and went back down to the lake. As you approach, there is a muddy/sandy area where the run off from the mountains turns into lots of little streams that feed the lake. I broke away from the path, and went stream hopping. Over to the corner where I hadn't seen anyone all day, and finally to where the lake truly began. This is where this photo is taken. Where Heaven can be seen by looking down, as well as up
