Linda arrives in Paris, France for her vacation in Europe after having completed work in FOREVER AMBER, June 1947.
At the encouragement of her husband, Pev, Linda decided that a solo vacation to Europe would be in her best interest. Through the course of three months, she would embark on seeing some of the most famous European cities: Paris, Brussels, Zurich, and Locarno. It was a very insightful and relaxing trip for her, but it was also lonely and at times miserable; her only companion was Marie Rollins, a business associate, and to top it off, Linda fell ill for most of the trip and had Rollins take care of her.
This trip also rose some red flags for gossip magazines; a vacation away from her husband for three months? That means divorce, or at least separation. While their marriage was far from perfect, they were not at the point of giving up just yet; when Linda returned to the States, her and Pev began the process of adopting their daughter, Charlotte. This seemed to satisfy the tabloids for at least a few months until their actual separation in 1948.
