Show me how Papa! Happy Father’s Day to all my friends celebrating! A job that can often be thankless wether father or stepfather - taking time to teach your children how to ride a bike, solve a math problem, tie a shoelace, drive a car, all around coach and guidance counselor - appreciated or not still a job that’s done day after day year after year! Reach out and say thank you to that person in your life! Mine has been gone since my 30s and every year there’s a little bit more hurt and never getting a chance to make that call or that visit. My Father was a perfectionist, a very talented man in so many ways and yet under his outwards tough guy was a very sweet and funny man. One of My fondest memories (he was the artist of the couple) was asking for a Castle 🏰 birthday cake for my 9th birthday and for him agreeing to make it! This serious diplomat with very little time for such requests or patience ... yet still out we went candy shopping, ice cream cones for turrets, wafer cookies for windows and ornate candy decor throughout - there’s just one photograph of it but it was my most treasured ever gift - a memory of someone who took time to make a wish come true - to put a smile on a little girls face. It’s the small moments in life we all remember, the time spent doing something special - I know we all have such memories and these stay with us always. To the Fathers out there, thank you for stopping what you were doing in your day and bringing that memory into the life of your child - happy Fathers Day!
