Had a relocation call last night. The homeowner wasn’t comfortable with this little guy hanging out in his garage so I moved him down the street to the desert and away from the human traffic.
Pictured is a juvenile Pituophis catenifer also known as the Sonoran Gophersnake and often misidentified as its close cousin the bullsnake. The bullsnake is a sub species of the Gopher Snake it just doesn’t range into Arizona but is a fairly popular common name. This snake non-venomous and mainly eats rodents and birds. It can grow to be one of the largest snakes in the area if ample room, food, and time is given!
Southern Pinal County, Arizona.
